Ultimate upgrade for the Boxster

A GT3 engine! $14k. Just dreaming of what that would be like in the Boxster.

If I didn't live in CA, i would do this in a heartbeat...

Is there some sort of law in CA that says you can't do this? Sorry, I'm just a dumb Canuck singin' "little deuce coupe..." Figured it was the land of the outrageous mods!

It's the land of outrageous smog, even with the toughest emissions regulations in the country.

The Phoenix area also has super tough smog laws. Glad we do even though it's a pain at times but it's better then breathing the air we had growing up in the 70s in the LA area or the crap that China has.

What would that GT3 engine have that your engine doesn't and how much more horsepower Bypro?

1st & foremost GT3 engine doesn't have compatibility with a Boxster chassis. I'm sure it can be adapted but not economically feasible. 996 GT3 engine has simular torque output to my engine until 5000+rpm where the GT3 engine is designed to excell thru higher flow heads & cams. GT3 also has stronger crankcase parts & drysump oiling.
GT3 is rated 375 HP & 285 ft/lbs torque, in a 996. In a Boxster it will lose approx. 5% of that power & much more in smog legal form.

Unless it has become tougher in California since I moved from there 8 years ago it's about the same. Up until recently I had to smog my motorcycle every year.

No problems, more like hand building with the best parts available , like Porsche used to do!
