How long do u think it will take u to install, seriously considering installing one myself, fairly mechanical.
I don,t need to change bearing just install the DOF on an 06 Boxster S. Any special tools i would need other than the standard stuff.

A quick update. I haven't had any time to work on the DOF much. I just installed the new steel dual row bearing. I must say it went in quite easy with out freezing it. Next is to pit the clip on it and get the grinder out and make the necessary adjustments to fit the new flange. I'll go snap a pic of the new bearing in the car.

I only get about 45 mins here and there. Tonight I put in the bearing clip, made the notch for the dof and installed the dof. I used some permatex to make a tight seal, I nicked the gasket surface and didn't want to risk a leak. Lock righted the center nit and torqued it to its spec of 11ftlbs. Torqued the flange bolts also with the new bolts to 7.5 ftlbs.

I notched it out slowly with a dremel, which worked very well. I smoothed it all out when done with a grinding stone.

Next step is to thread in the fitting into the dof. I thought I trimmed back enough bell housing but I didn't. Instead of unseating it and removing it I purchased a 5/16 24pitch Allen head plug from the hardware store so I can put that in its place and remove a little more material with out the threat of shavings getting into the dof.
