Oh, didn't hear that over here on the left coast!
Did you right coast guys hear Gemballa CA U.S. shut down?
JD I would look into some Coast Fab mufflers & maybe SS tubing bends to get you started & find someone close to you to assemble everything.

Here is the exhaust I built for my Boxster that I will be racing in ITR with SCCA. It will not fit with a 6spd trans. Right now it has a megaphone on it. I am pretty sure it will not pass sound so I am ordering a muffler for.

Not just US. Similar story... except Uwe was laundering not embezzling $ (well maybe both) and he was found shot to death in South Africa(? IIRC). Great stuff until then though...

Coast is another manufacturer of high quality, light weight exhaust components. But, who's going to build the exhaust ? Furthermore, who has the knowledge and experience to design the optimal system ?

This is what I'm using right now. Loud but sweet.

What about precision chassis works? Kcpaz obviously knows his way around a 986 and iirc he built spec exhausts a while back. Couldn't hurt to give him a call. Surely cheaper than fvd fabbing it.

I spoke with PCW awhile back about their exhaust. It's a nice system, but it's primarily designed for boxster spec racing. Therefore, a completely different exhaust would have to be fab'd in order for it to fit a 986 S; especially for a "street" application. And, it's right up there in price also. But, here's another option. This is race system that was designed and developed by M&M Exhaust for FVD. It's currently being run in World Challenge Caymans Series..

that cayman system looks very nice. fwiw i am running catless headers and bypass pipes with b&b muffler. it is loud when on the gas, but not bad while cruising. my wife and i just returned from a trip to the georgia mountains and she had no complaints after almost 6 hours in the car. point being, they aren't too loud as long as there is a decent muffler in place.

Jaay,
Your exhaust is very similar to my 9ff catback. Similarly, my exhaust strikes a nice balance between every day drivability and aggressive when you get on it. I'm just ready for something that's much more ripp'in at this point.

I have talked to Jack Burns about doing what you want to do, apparently they are incapable of doing a project like this in house.

Ditto. They don't fabricate in-house. But, they have some beautiful hardware !
