IIRC it would be difficult as the inside snorkel appeared to a moulded protrusion on the inside wall of the air box you would end up with another sharp edge unless you fit a nice velocity stack in there....as I remember it there is lots of room under the filter so it can be round rather than elliptical...in order to get the "right" area......it was dark and a long time ago though
