De-what?

I am a newbee and keep hearing about de-snorkeling, and de-abered. I know what de-snorkeling is but what is de-ambering? Also could anyone tell me where there is a link showing how to do this as well as fuel filter replacement on a 2000 Boxter?
Tks,.

Hey! Well De-ambering is the act or removing and replacing all amber colored lights and markers from the exterior of your car... For instance, Swaping out your half clear/half amber headlights for all clear 02+ headlights, also removing the half red/half amber taillights with 02+ taillights, then lastly there is removing the amber front bumper side markers and replacing them with 02+ clear/smoked markers.

Fuel Filter... You'll need a 10mm wrench or socket... socket is better.
Jack the car up, remove the center/tunnel cover held on by alot of 10mm plastic nuts and you will see the fuel filter. Remove loosen 10mm clamp, pinch hose ends and pull fuel hoses off the old filter and quickly slip yours in place before you end up with gas in your eyes.

Thats it in a nut shell.

No need to swap the fuel filter on '00 and up. These egas cars have a lifetime fuel filter inside the fuel tank - it is part of the filler stalk along with the fuel pump and sending unit.

Since the egas cars eliminated a fuel return line from the fuel rail to the tank, it was thought that the filter only does half the duty than those in a two-line system. While I doubt that it's truly lifetime, I suspect that it lasts a good bit longer than the cannister type of the non-egas two-line systems, which is what CJ_Boxster is referring to.
