Here is the header for 00-04 boxsters. It appears to have only one bung which is located before the cat. It needs a bung after the cat like the stock manifold. Where would the other 02 sensors go otherwise?

Here's a pic of the fabspeeds maxflo exhaust for 97-04 boxsters. I noticed it has a bung down near the muffler/cat where the 2.5L car originally had one located and one way upstream. How would this work on a 00-04? You'd need an extension cord for your o2 sensors to reach that far back by the muffler no?

Adam,
Yes you would have to lengthen the stock wire. Now here's the problem, I have cat bypass pipes, so no second cat is on my car.
Next and a bigger problem, I have been told by porsche that when you lengthen the wires, you cause an increase in electral resistance, due to the added wire, this will translate into an altered signal to the computer. This may trip a CEL, the computer is looking for gas concentration closer to the headers and without the increased electrical resistance in the wire.
Fab speeds would be ok, but are you going to drill 3000$ of headers and hope that it works, what if it does not , you cant return them.
Somebody here must work for a manufacturing faclity that can make them.

Why don't they make a bung just fore and aft of the cat like the stock setup so you wouldn't have to worry about adding wire and other hassles? I assume there is a good explanation but I can't come up with any.

I just watched the second video on the fabspeed site...
Boxster 986 Maxflo Muffler Explanation Video.wmv
well this video shows a version of headers that have 2 O2 bungs per header... for the 2000-2004 986.
So finally they are here. Forget cargraphic and this is what I am going to do.
Che's muffler
Fabspeed elbow tubes
Fabspeed bypass pipes
Fabspeed 2 bung O2 with cats headers.
They post some impressive dyno results.

Good catch. I didn't see that second video at first and you can't see the second set of bungs in the picture provided. The headers DO have fore and aft 02 bungs. This does look like the real deal. The dyno sheet showed almost a 20 peak gain at the wheels and also gains accross the board. They also look quality made. I think I might put this system on my wish list now I still have a few questions. If the headers have the bungs why does it look like there is one dowstream by the muffler? Perhaps the maxlfow picture is a system for a 2.5L? I sent an email to fabspeed with a link to this thread. Hopefully they can provide more info.

That's what I was trying to tell you guys in my first post. If you actually watch the second video that I specified by title you would have seen them point out that the O2 sensor bungs are in OEM locations. Fabspeed makes a great product. As for their customer service follow up that's a whole another story. You are better off calling them than expecting and email response.
