thanks for the suggestions, I didn't want to go with 11" wide either, but it's just

that I came across a nice set and don't want to give it up... but look at what I

found...

"8.5x19 and 11x19 full polished, with Pirelli 215/35 and 275/30 (stretch, that's how Europeans do it"

so I assume I can do the same with 8.5x18 and 11x18 then???

I can assure you that car below has A LOT of rubbing going on.

Also a 275/30 on a 11" wheel will look stupid in my opinion. The tire will stretch out too much. You will have a big lip on the outside and inside of the wheel that has no rubber to cover it.

Stick to a 10" wheel on the rears.

EXACTLY! I coundn't say it any better. That's what I meant earlier by the lip sticking out 1-2mm from the tire. IT'S BAD for the tire too. Not good for the steel belts within the tires. You will also have fast wearing down on the center as I did until I you put the correct tires on that rim. And then you would get serious rubbing when you hit pot wholes. That car is also lowered in that picture. If it wasn't, you may have a better chance with the proper tires on those rims. Stick with 18s.

actually, these will fit ok. i've installed turbo wheels on my car just to check. you'll need 21mm spacers to make it work. as for tires, run either a 275/35 or a 285/30. do NOT run a 275/30, it won't work right (too short a sidewall and too low a load rating). the tires will appear to stick out very slightly when installed, but as your suspension compresses, the tires will just clear the fenders.

btw, the car will actually handle better when the tires are stretched on the rim. look at race cars. you do give up some sidewall pliability, though, and hence some comfort. btw, that car in the pic with the 19's is lowered almost 2" over stock.
