DRAGON HID head lights???

This guy has custom made Dragon HID's on his boxster, Has anyone seen these before. I've searched and searched and was unable to find out where to get lights like this... http://www.cardomain.com/ride/831995 its the 7th picture down. Not sure if I will try and do this but if the price is less than the litronic kit from porsche... So if anyone has any info as to where or how these lights would be purchased and/or installed it would be appreciated.

(also through my searching all I could find refering to Dragon HID's is that they might have come in newer model 5 series BMW's other than that its a big ?)

Did you read his list of mods? He rebuilt the motor with all sorts of heavy duty stuff, is running NOS and the Turbocharger. Holy crap. He must have $50k in mods in that $12k car.

His HP claims are huge though. I can only imagine what my car would feel like with that kind of power under my butt and behind my right foot!

I don't know this car, or if I am 100% accurate....but...

I did alot of reserch on lights for my car trying to decide what I wanted to do to customize the look and get better output.

I believe what he did was remove the lowbeams and insert these projecters.
It would seem to be an easy swap just fabercate the brackets in where the current lens is at and wire it up.

I am intrested in the turbo kit. I'm going to shoot him an email and see what he thinks of it.

I wonder how many more lines
I can start on this thread with the 1st line being
I

I guess no more

I am having a great day, have one yourself,
Gary

The headlights were probably a custom job using his original headlights. I bet they took apart the light and put in HID projectors/bulbs/ballasts and maybe shrouds too and then put tint or paint over the original amber.

I googled and found a couple of places that do custom headlight retrofits:

http://www.customlightz.com/
http://hidtech.com/ click on "retros"

The prices they have listed are around $300-$400, however neither lists Boxsters, but you can email them for a quote.

Doubt any of it's DOT legal, but looks good anyhow.

Good luck,
Larez2

I lol

I assume he is using this kit http://www.turbowerx.com/page1/page3/page3.html for the turbo

I also came across this for the lights http://www.tactical-flashlights-store.com/HID%20Series/K500-Dragon-Tactical-Flashlights.html perhaps he made brackets for these and put them in after all they do say DRAGON HID's haha

Yep, that's what I would say too. Looks like the insides were painted black. All those sponsors must have paid for his mods. If they are indeed real.

Hey thanks alot for the replys you guys were right here is the reply I was sent from him

"Those headlights are self made. Using OEM headlight i tinted the edge and then chopped the headlight in half gutted everything out then installed a HID projector which i custom cut and then painted with glossy heat paint then inserted it in the headlight then solder and rewire the headlight then upgrade the fuse to a 25AMP"

seems pretty straight forward I assume the only tricky part will be in setting up the angle of the lights as I have never really messed around with headlights before. (that is if I opt to do it myself)

I think I will try this on an extra headlight I have laying around and if it turns out then ill do it to the one's one the car... after its back from the body shop that is (getting gt2 kit with TA skirts installed)

Jordan

on another note.. Gary what did the guy say about his turbo kit? much change from the SC?
