Hi and congratulations on the '99 911! I love mine. It really is a wonderful car. In regards to your question about oil pressure, my car does exactly the same. The oil pressure will be high when you start the engine cold. Then it will slowly come down as the oil warms up. Once at temp, the oil pressure will be fairly low at idle and then immediately step up to 5 once you step on the throttle. Hope you enjoy your new car! Feel free to reach out anytime. All the best, Tom.

Th,
I have been a member here for 3 years and follow your comments all the time. am contacting you because I purchased a 99 911 yesterday. 25,000 miles and in mint condition. I know you also own a 911. I recently sold my boxster to purchase it. I have a question I can't find an answer to here or on Rennlist. When I am at idle the oil pressure gauge is at 2.5 but as soon as I apply power or at constant speed the oil pressure gauge is all the way to the top or 5. Is this normal or may I have a problem? Thought you could give me a quick answer so if I need to get it in quickly I can.
Thanks in advance for your help.
