Door pull straps

Ive been completing a lot of weight reductions recently and decided to give a nod to the factory lightweight cars by installing some pull straps. I couldn't be happy with the way they turned out

Cheers,
Stu

I don't unfortunaltly, it's very straight forward though. I just passed the cable through the strap and added a zip tie for reinforcement. It's pretty obvious how to do this with the door panel off.

Lightweight plastic convertible top window. I will trade mine if someone wants to remove their heavy glass top.

That actually looks pretty cool Truegearhead, and almost intended from the factory.

Where did you get the straps?

How do you remove the door handle itself? Is it a difficult job?

Great work Stu! Only part missing now is a trim piece to cover the opening. I wonder if we could custom model and 3d print something for it?

I didn't realize that some Boxsters came without side airbags! My 02 has them in the doors. Your doors were lighter than mine from the factory!

Hello,

I have a question about installing the RS door straps on the 986. Whenever you are about to open the door the window goes down a little. The door handle has a spring for that purpose. When you installed the straps did you run into any issues with that?

Regards,
Manny
