Yes. This is difficult to diagnose from afar.
Generally, I'd suspect the obvious culprits first. The HIDs do draw a higher burst of current on fire up, then settle down. This burst could cause weird behavior if your battery were not ideal or if your headlight or ignition switch are failing.

Forgive me if you already answered these, but have you;
1) Had the battery/alternator checked? Most places will do it for free.
2) Replaced the ignition switch? They're cheap and a 5 minute job.
3) Cleaned the inside of the headlight switch by spraying electrical contact cleaner into it?

Thanks for the update. Here is my checklist:

1)Done. Bought a new battery. Alternator is ok
2)Done. Ignition Swith (is you mean the back of the key ignition) replaced
3) Wil do. I will clean the inside.

I also had that problem just switched the headlight switch / ignition switch / battery no issues so far but it was a pretty rare occurrence

I'm having the same issue, but both of mine have been out for a while. They didn't just go out overnight- I noticed them being more and more dim over time and now both are out completely. If anyone knows the solution, a post would be appreciated!

If you had the dim fade out or partial halo loss, most likely the LED has failed. The only way to fix is to replace the projector.
Being fully integrated into the projector means that they are not replaceable/serviceable.

They were new 2 years ago when I had the projectors installed in them so they are still in great condition.

Hello Particlewave,

since you are the Yoda of these kits, I just have another question for you.

I am leaning on this install but am wondering when the kit is installed and lights need to be changed is this possible to service and replace light in projector?

Thank you for your help

You will replace them the same way as other bulbs but just attach them to the HID ballast instead. they basically screw in the same hole as the top headlight bulb is in now and then you replace them through the same way as before.

They look great! I want to get this done eventually but have some other items that are more of a priority. I have watched Particlewaves DIY videos, excellent stuff. BruceH did you do yours or is there vendor that offers the conversion?

So, only one of these is appearing on the Pelican Parts website now and the link to the instruction PDF (can find several places in this thread) are no longer working.

Is purchasing a set of these still an option and does anyone have a working link to the instructions?

Getting the itch to try this again...

We are all sold out unfortunately. Just sold the last VIVO series a few weeks ago. Hoping to fill stock again. As far as the PDF goes, it's HERE.

Headlights project questions

Hi Everyone, im a newbie here but had a few questions on the headlight conversion project. I downloaded the HOW TO instructions and was reading through, but wanted to know is there parts /brand specific that would best work for my Porsche Boxster 1999 or would any brand sold on ebay for the Bezels, Ballasts and bulbs work fine.

Prices range and there different brands and one clueless would help on some direction on this.

I really like some of the finish pictures that i have seen on this topic. on Bezels in Black and silver with the changing lights on Bezels.

Headlights

Get yourself some HID projectors from Pelican Parts when they are available again. I used the VIVO series and the end result is very nice. I painted the interior of the headlights black and also added LED DRL. Say goodbye to the halogens sooner than later.
