I have a line on a set of 2004 headlights without the corner units for $400 shipped. I would use those as a basis for doing this upgrade.
Is that a good price for the lights? I see the corner units cost $50-$70 each!

Depending on condition, yeah that could be a good price. Condition is critical, though. I spent $300 on a "decent" set of clears (shipped), then clear corners for another $100. But what constitutes a good price is contingent on a number of factors, including supply and demand.

I just got my lights back from Particlewave. AMAZING work. I think the car looks so much newer now that the old VW headlights are gone.
Sharp eyes will notice the integrated DRL. I think it's a very nice touch. I have noticed that in the midst of all the trucks, SUV's and crossovers, my tiny, dark colored car seems to get overlooked. So the DRL is really a functional consideration for me apart from just looking trick.
I'm also considering adding some DRL's down to the cold air ports under the bumper. I have an LED kit that will look nice there. Simply a matter of wiring it in properly, which is challenging for me since Porsche has everything pretty nicely tucked away. But I know guys have done it, and so I'm thinking about that as well.

Doesn't look that way, but the bulbs are cheap on eBay (about $10 per pair).

What kind of bulb is it (is there a certain base that I'm looking for)? Or will any HID bulb work?

You'll need to get h1 and trim or sand the base slightly to fit in the bulb tube. Since these are custom made, there aren't any ready made bulbs for them (aside from contacting Fred).
Alternatively, if anyone needs replacements or a different temp like 5000k or 6000k, let me know via PM and I'll get some made up.

I just picked up a set off ebay for $400. Except for the totally burned out inner lens, the housings are in great shape. I don't even think I'll have to do too much work on them.

Need assistance
I've had the new projectors working flawlessly for 3 months and this morning the angel eyes would turn on but when I switched for the headlights the stereo got all staticky and the lights didn't turn on. When looking at the lights while on (and not working) you could see what looked like lighting crackling in the bulb. Eventually after turning on/off a few times they kicked on but now it's doing the same thing. Any ideas?

Is it both headlights?
If so, try pulling the headlight switch first and cleaning it out with contact cleaner (spray inside the switch).

It is both headlights. I just pulled them both and the connections are still good.
The switch in the car that turns the lights on?
How do I pull that (looking it up on google)

Yes, the headlight switch in the car. That's the only area where both headlights get power. I doubt both headlights would go bad at the same time, so the common factor would be the headlight switch.
Pelican has a write up under "headlight switch replacement".
