Every model is 'Temporarily Unavailable' on the Pelican Parts website...?
And is there any option for UK buyers? |
Quote:
I'm sure the guys at pelican will be happy to ship to UK. If they refuse I'll fully understand tho lollll In any case I'll make sure you get a kit, no worries. |
Tell you what, when you're coming back to the UK in the future, get in touch and I'll ask you to make a set for me :)

Any red Vivo Series that would hit stock at Pelican soon ? (or other ways to purchase these ?) Thanks |
Quote:
Regardless, and in the meantime, I'll deal those special colors myself from this end. Until we've organized something that works. So yes to your question, you'll be able to order the Red Vivo in March. Just don't know from who yet but that doesn't really matter. Same price really. Thanks for the interest by the way. Cool choice if I may add ;) |
Nine8Six,
Any update on timeline for the center caps? I know you are a busy man. |
Any updates?

Angel eye ballast or resistor?
One of my angel eyes has quit working. Can anyone tell me what the small black canister in the circuit is and can I get a replacement? I have power to it but the angel eye wont light. Thanks.

Hello China, here is Geneva !
How is the status of the prod ? I’m waiting for a set of “Vivo”, and while waiting, let’s show you these Vivo will land : (the “Before” photo !!) http://i707.photobucket.com/albums/w...%2022feb16.jpg or, ..not really a “show car”, neither a Daily (with Nitto NT01 !!), but a lovely track car. Easy to recognize this one, a month ago, together with the great friends of the Golden Gate Lotus Club ! I was hesitating between Red Vivo (to make some companionship of the “Mobil Pegase”, the kill switch and the “stripes” (I bought this car with these stripes !! Yes, I know, ..I have to change the 3.2 engine into a 4.0, ..or remove these stripes !!) or, Gun Metal Vivo, to match the OZ Alleggerita ! I think the GM will be a bit more “classic”, and just hope that they will hit the Pelican stock before the red ones ! To let you have a feel of the inside, it looks like that : http://i707.photobucket.com/albums/w...ches%20800.jpg So, if I can remodel the seats, ..then I hope I will be able to remodel the head lights ! :) Avec mes meilleures salutations, depuis l’Europe cette fois ! |
nicest seats I've seen yet. How did you go about remodeling the seats, did you start with a regular Sparco seat and re-upholstered the center section with I'm not sure what material is used...? Anyways, looks B-E-A-utiful:cheers:

Thanks,
Yes, the base are "regular" Sparco. I felt they were good, but did not liked the material that much (the "touch"). I do like Alcantara. I got the "Boxster S" stitched on an Alcantara panel, and then asked to have "diamond" stitches below the logo. In the bottom front part, I asked to have it split in two parts (original was on one part) in order to have the 5th and 6th point of the harness to be able to go through. Btw, all the original "center cushions" are fixed to the bucket using "Velcro", so, I just ordered (to a local car upholstery company) to use the same for these new cushions ! Pretty basic work ! Imo the "original" Sparco stitching is not so "elegant" ! (kind of "cheap ad" instead of discrete branding !) Note that the result is quite "comfy" ! |
Well, about these kind of “aesthetic” mods, as, I removed my roof (to gain 18kg !!), I found a cheap (50 bucks) engine cover, and made a hole on it, build aluminum frame, and fixed a Perspex window on it.
http://i707.photobucket.com/albums/w...5588%20800.jpg So, with no roof : a glance, and you can see the engine ! But, I have a plan, to push the concept a bit more, will see if it is going to work ! Note that the Brey-Krause bar is fixed in the rear side of the OEM hoop. This did enable me to keep the OEM paddings on the hoop, (imo extremely important for safety, ..if you drive the car without any helmet !) as well as keeping the OEM wind stoppers ! PS: all my excuses to Nine8Six for the off topic posts. |
Guys,
I still have the problem that the oil warning light turns on/ spoiler goes up when turning on the headlights fitted with these retrofits. Turning of the engine and on again corrects everything (besides the spoiler). That one has to be lowered by using the button on the fusebox). Any ideas of how to resolve this problem? |
This happens when you have a non-canbus HID kit.
Install a smart-canbus HID kit and you'll be fine. |
Aren't the ones supplied canbus friendly?
|
March is behind us...any update on availability?

Generally, I'd suspect the obvious culprits first. The HIDs do draw a higher burst of current on fire up, then settle down. This burst could cause weird behavior if your battery were not ideal or if your headlight or ignition switch are failing. Forgive me if you already answered these, but have you; 1) Had the battery/alternator checked? Most places will do it for free. 2) Replaced the ignition switch? They're cheap and a 5 minute job. 3) Cleaned the inside of the headlight switch by spraying electrical contact cleaner into it? |
Thanks for the update. Here is my checklist:
1)Done. Bought a new battery. Alternator is ok 2)Done. Ignition Swith (is you mean the back of the key ignition) replaced 3) Wil do. I will clean the inside. Quote:

I also had that problem just switched the headlight switch / ignition switch / battery no issues so far but it was a pretty rare occurrence |
Thought I would post a couple of long overdue pictures of my lights!

If you had the dim fade out or partial halo loss, most likely the LED has failed. The only way to fix is to replace the projector.
Being fully integrated into the projector means that they are not replaceable/serviceable. |

Hello Particlewave, since you are the Yoda of these kits, I just have another question for you. I am leaning on this install but am wondering when the kit is installed and lights need to be changed is this possible to service and replace light in projector? Thank you for your help G |

So, only one of these is appearing on the Pelican Parts website now and the link to the instruction PDF (can find several places in this thread) are no longer working.
Is purchasing a set of these still an option and does anyone have a working link to the instructions? Getting the itch to try this again... |
Not currently available. I think I have a copy of the PDF somewhere...

Headlights project questions
Hi Everyone, im a newbie here but had a few questions on the headlight conversion project. I downloaded the HOW TO instructions and was reading through, but wanted to know is there parts /brand specific that would best work for my Porsche Boxster 1999 or would any brand sold on ebay for the Bezels, Ballasts and bulbs work fine.
Prices range and there different brands and one clueless would help on some direction on this. I really like some of the finish pictures that i have seen on this topic. on Bezels in Black and silver with the changing lights on Bezels. Headlights
Get yourself some HID projectors from Pelican Parts when they are available again. I used the VIVO series and the end result is very nice. I painted the interior of the headlights black and also added LED DRL. Say goodbye to the halogens sooner than later. http://986forum.com/forums/uploads02/Pcar1463066134.jpg
