I was under the impression that a MAF sensor either worked or it didn't . Please explain ?

The Fuel trim is about 2, which is within the range but outside of the spec. With the old failing Bosch MAF, the values were about -1, so I doubt the problem is a vacuum leak or other problem. My theory is the aftermarket MAF is under reading the air and the DME is compensating by enriching the mixture, thus leading to the + values on the Fuel trim values.
