1998 SUPER CHARGED Boxster FOR SALE
Hi All,
I have decided to sell my 1998 Super Charged Custom Boxster. Many of you followed me on this forum as I did this project 2 years ago. Hate to see her go, but some lucky new owner is gonna love her even more! Over $27,000 spent on the project (not including the car itself). I've owned her since 2000.
Everything works great on the car. Current odometer is 107,080. However in 2002, when the car had 46,111 miles, I had a Porsche Dealership replace the engine with one that had only 12,000. So the engine currently has about 73,000 miles on it (see pics below).
- New 987 Clutch, Pressure Plate & Flywheel.
- New L&N IMS Dual Row Ceramic Bearing
- New Main Seal
- Larger Capacity Oil Cooler
- Third Radiator
- High Flow 200 Cell Fabspeed Cats
- Entire Exhaust Heat Shield Wrapped
- LED Headlights
- LED Tail Lights and #rd Brake Light
- New Convertible Top with Glass Rear Window
- Custom Fiberglass Hood
- Custom Side View Mirrors
- GT3 Front Bumper Cover
- GT3 Side Skirts
- AMAZING metallic black paint job with solid black ghost striping and side graphics (PORSCHE)
- New Stereo, Amp and Sub Woofer System
- Short Shifter
- New 2-Tone Leather Seats
- Air Fuel Computer with Boost and AF Ratio Gauges
- And TONS more done to the car.....
See the project links to see all that has been done to this car. This is a looker. No matter where I take it, people always stop to ask what it is.
I am planning on posting the car online on ebay, etc this next week. However, i thought I would give the forum members first shot at it.
I'm asking $27,000. I know that is a lot for a 98 Boxster. But it is worth it. The supercharger kit alone is worth over $6,000 (not including installation). The custom paint was $8,000. The rims and tires were over $3,000. New Leather Seats $1,400. Complete Sound System was $1,500. LED Headlights $1,100. Anyhow, see the project links to get all the details.
Shipping the car anywhere within the US can be arranged.

Really nice Boxster!
You likely already know this but the price is close to 987.2S money.

You say "1998" which is of course a base model, but I don't see a lot of 1998 or base when I look at it. You have made it as a new creation and fixed many of the 986 weak points.
Great job all around, from the drivetrain to paint/body to interior.

I have not put it on a Dyno, but it FEELS as though we added 45-50 HP. From the seat of my pants, it is a BEAST!

What displacement is the engine from the swap years back?
The 2.5 is actually one of the best sounding water cooled flat sixes. It's only downside is the power but I'd say you've fixed that if this is a 2.5.

Its the 2.5. And with the super charger, intake and exhaust system I have on it, it sounds AWESOME. There is no mistaking that this car has the power to match its look.

Looks like the engine came from the Gemballa rep in Malibu, I would consider that a +
