Installed the crank underdrive pulley, easy job! Still have to remove ac compressor and lines from the engine bay.

Damn that is a lot of wiring! That would be very intimidating for me and I'm sure I'd tangle a bunch of stuff up. Looks like you're getting pretty far along.

I did the wheel bearings myself using a borrowed SIR tool set. The only part I wasn't able to do myself was remove the inner bearing center from the hub after I pulled it, but only on the backs (2000 S), so I dropped them at my mechanic and he cut them off for me. I don't have any grinding/cutting tools or a good vise to hold stuff.
Shameless plug - if you haven't gotten your 2 new rear LCA I have 2 extra new in box items for sale Save a few bucks Price drop to $125

I'm pleased with it. There are one or two things I would like to be different. The rear harness bar is straight and nearly against my seat. This setup will not work for a longer-legged person, but the bar can easily be replaced. We did look into an FIA bar, but I did not think there would be enough room for rapid egress (I've been in a car that was on fire, so I want to be able to get out quickly). Now that it is completed, the builder did a great job moving the doors outward and keeping them fairly low, yet safe. I'll run this way for the first few tests and then decide if I need another bar. The car has much better ingress and egress than my 944LS. I am glad he was able to tie in the front strut towers.

Exhaust system is just about done, just need to decide if I'm using two or one tips, clean up some welds, and black out the entire exhaust with high-temp black paint. Using turbo perforated mufflers and 2" exhaust tubing from the headers.

Aligned the car on Monday and roll cage painting has begun. Made a plate to insert into the dash for switches and gauges. Photos to come. T-minus 10 days to first real testing.

What are you using to paint the cage? I was in a rush and didn't paint mine before reassembling the car...will probably make that a project for this winter

Looks great. Wish I had that style of cage with the lower bars - would make entering and exiting so much easier for this old guy :-)

Tip: Apply clear racer's tape to some of the roll bar surfaces that have everyday contact with people and things. Especially the harness bar, cross bar, any unpadded door bars. It functions as a shiny paint protection that will keep the paint in much better shape for a longer time.

Not a bad idea.
Still trying to decide if I will paint the interior or not (white). On the plus side, it will keep the interior cooler and aid in finding items dropped on the floor. On the negative side, every time I've painted the interior of a car, it has looked like

Still need to add all the little bits and pieces to finalize the dash.

What short shifter is that? Looks like the one I have and I don't know what came in my car.
