Boxster racers and hpde folks: what oil do you run and how often do you change it?

Just wondering what folks are using and why. If the info is not something you want to share publicly, if you pm me I will respect your confidence. In case the oil is a secret ingredient to your winning formula and you don't want the competition to know.

in my autocross car (7500-10k yearly, 15-20 events) I change every 5000 miles. In the summer I use Castrol Edge 10W-40. In the winter I go to 0W-40. A sample goes to Blackstone labs for analysis with each oil change. Same goes for my 996 daily driver ( 30k yearly) but interval goes to 7500 miles and I do analysis every other change.

I run Mobil 1 0-40 in both my Boxster race car and my Cayman S daily. Change the Boxster every 4-5 track days depending on the number of sessions. Cayman S every 5k. At $23 for 5 quarts - I don't worry about it.

I ran Castrol 5W40 full synthetic for 10 years and changed it every 3k miles. Compression was still good when I sold the car at 112k miles and 100+ track days. Noticeably less startup chatter than with 0-40 I used before.

Red Line 10 W-40 year round, though I very rarely start the engine when the ambient temperature is below 50 F. I run Red Line straight 40W racing oil (very high ZDDP) for mid-summer track events.

I run M1 0w-40 and change it every 3-5k miles depending on track days. I change it before every track weekend unless it has been under 2k miles since the last change.

I figure changing the oil is cheap insurance

I have a magnetic drain plug and just added magnets on the oil filter housing

I change my 996 every 5k miles or 6 months as it does not get tracked or run at AX

Amsoil 20/50 racing.

Change it depending on the # of track days.
