Good Day at COTA

Got to take some family and friends along for some hot laps!

Got to see some great exotics as they flew by in the straights,
But she hung tough in the twisters :/)

COTA, the only place where
GT3's are common place, Lamborghini & Ferrari are well represented, some American Iron, and a garage full of McClarens, toss in a Carrera GT and you have some serious disposable income on display.

Felt like bringing a knife to a gun fight, but my RSR only has slicks and we had 1/2" of rain on Saturday. However the Boxster was a blast to drive and I'm sure I had the best $/fun factor out there.

Also pretty cool to just drive to/from the track each day.

Mike

Totally jealous. What an awesome track. I bet the Boxster was incredible to drive there.

Did you get any video? If so, we'd love to see it.

I always find out about the cool things going on when it's too late to go. Sounds like you had fun and it looks like security had to kick you out. Last one there?

Let's see if this works.....

Was a lot of fun sharing the weekend with family and friends.

I'd love to drive COTA one day. I've driven a track here in South Houston and Texas World Speedway.

When TWS closes later this year, I think the local PCA club will do more at COTA. Pity though, it's a LOT more money than TWS for a weekend.

If you go to FB, and go to the video, (not playing inline but in its own little popup type of page, you can get there by clicking the title of the video), and then at the bottom click "Get link" and then paste that in here, it will look like this:

Code:
https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v=777444502325116&l=7378194192395862037
https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v=777444502325116&l=7378194192395862037

Then everybody should be able to see it, even if they are not on FB.

Edit: please note this is one of my videos as an example and not Mike's COTA video.

There's a possibility of a new track getting built in Brenham.

Hmm. I got a fast forwarding video where you couldn't get a point by for an entire session from a yellow 911 at another track (??) but it was entertaining to watch!

Yeah that was one of mine to show an example Mike will have to redo his link using my steps and everybody will be able to see it.

I showed it to a guy at work and he didn't realize it was sped up... he thought we were tearing around at warp speed

We missed you at the track Mike. There was only one 986! He had a cool air intake for cooling his brakes

There were lots of great cars there and I got a 161mph ride in a McLaren. That was a thrill of a lifetime! He was lapping other cars by the third lap.

Looks like a lot of fun. Except for autocross I haven't done any track days since June (when it was hot as &%$) and I am wanting to get back. Next one is in Oct. I would love to go to COTA some day.
