Best location for an alarm siren?

What would be the best location for an alarm siren? Currently I have mine mounted inside that space next right to the gas-pedal (don't know what it's called) and it's way too muffled. Any help appreciated.

The OEM alarm is located next to the battery on the drivers side (US).
Remove the panel on that side and you should see a horn there.

Take care,

Ed

Thank you -- and yes, I just relocated the siren to this very spot.

Nobody listens to alarm sirens anymore, why even bother.

What you want is the "Car Zapper 9000" system (Not a joke)

Or perhaps a "Trunk Monkey" if you like pets.
