Looks like you've just got rusty nuts. Buy a new set from the dealership or online someplace. Depending on wheel offset, your front wheel's nuts will probably jut out more than the rear wheel's so I'm pretty sure that's normal.

Can't really tell from your pictures but it doesn't look like you've got spacers. Feel behind the wheel and see if it's touching the hub or if it's sitting on something sandwiched between. That would be the spacer, if you have one.

Oh, your other option might be naval jelly, a wire brush, some elbow grease and a coat of silver paint.
