When replacing the AOS do you need to replace the Crankcase Breather Hose also?

I'm going to tackle replacing the AOS on my 2002 base 986.

Some tutorials mention replacing the Crankcase Breather Hose ( part # 99610714506 ) as part of the job. Does anyone know if this is required or not? It's not clear to me why the original one can't be reused, saving $90 on the job cost.

Thanks for any tips!
