High Pitched Beeping Sound from Cluster Area

Please listen closely during seconds 25-32 for the most pronounced sound:

Any idea what this is / where it is coming from?

Wow! Never heard that before but sounds like AM radio static. When does it happen? How long? Repeatable?

It happens intermittently almost always during or after a drive. Once it happens you can hear it in the background while driving and you can hear it even with the engine off and ignition is on. Today I noticed that it is somehow affected by the gas pedal. Once the noise stops and engine is off and ignition is on, like shown in the video, pumping the gas pedal brings the noise back and kind of directly affects the pitch based on how I’m pumping the pedal, which I thought is interesting. Wondering if a fuse is going out or if there is radio interference or a relay gone bad or something along those lines? It’s very annoying…

What is annoying is that you don't reveal what you're driving.

Is it a drive by cable model year... or drive by wire? I'd like to help... but...

Preliminarily, and assuming wire, I'm guessing the potentiometer is acting wonky.

So you have a computer with a floppy drive installed in your car? Pretty cool.

Radio and amps are off?

Model year?

This is the noise that comes from the throttle when it reaches the end positions. Open the engine compartment cover, then it becomes crystal clear. Everything is normal.
Edit: of course you can't listen to this while driving, but you certainly can't listen to the other stuff either ;-) When I switch on the ignition, I hear the sound of a fan.

That's your secondary air injection pump... on the passenger side of your engine. That sound is normal.

Year? Model?

It's a 00 2.7. Sure with te the air pump? It only operates after the start to accelerate temperature of the cats by adding air to burn fuel, it only should operate with a runnung engine?!
Interesting! Maybe I can control that pump with a durametric, it's possible with the 997 (MK1). Will report back!

Are you sure? Sometimes it gets loud and I hear the noise even when the engine is off. The car is 03 986 boxter, base manual transmission.

Yeah, I’m not convinced it’s a pump, the noise pitch changes and pops sometimes as well regardless of if the engine is on.

Check out the noise changes in response to my pumping the pedal:

https://drive.google.com/file/d/1GVC2V9df_spYfXuGWeOODGUdB-kYcJ6v/view?usp=drivesdk

I’m thinking it might be somehow related to a worn light switch assembly that may need to be replaced or poor stereo grounding or radio interference

Why would the throttle result in a noise when the engine is off? further, why would the throttle result in a noise when the throttle isn't even pressed?

It's an adaptation routine of the throttle valve that starts ~30s after ignition on. Afaik no actuation of accelerator pedal allowed during this adaption process.

That's why I mentioned to open the engine cover, it's obvious then.

The noise starts immediately even if the engine is off, not after 30 seconds

I've narrowed down the issue to the car stereo by removing the fuse that controls the stereo, that immediately gets rid of the high pitch noise, so the issue is likely radio interference or poor ground.
