I have had mine up to 109mph twice once top up and once top down. When you adjust for the inaccurate Porsche Speedo I was most likely actually going about 38mph.

166 MPH prior to installing the lwfw, udp, and ecu reflash (mind you my girlfriend was in the car on both accounts). 147 MPH with the top down and without the above modifications installed. Ideally, I am confident in obtaining 170 MPH.

*Mind you this was conducted outside the confines of the United States of America in a controlled enviroment*

About a week after I got my S, my son suggested we take a run to Vegas. We were buzzing along an almost empty freeway out of Barstow when I decided to pass this "slow" guy in front of me. After passing him, I glanced down and we were doing 126! YIKES! I would never intentionally drive that fast with my kid in the car, I just wasn't used to how smooth the car is at speed. Felt like we were doing 50.

The above stipulations still apply, this is the only proof I have of going anywhere near the stated speed of 166 MPH. At the time I did not have a LWFW, UDP, ECU, 997 TB, or IPD intake plenum installed.

woah, 3 times the limit is really pushing it, good job you didn't get caught as that would have been jail time in the UK lol.

What do they do when they catch you having a pleasant bump in the back seat some where indiscreet.

When I felt I was going fast I looked at the dash and it said i was doing "123 mph" and I still had another gear to go!

Looking in the mirror and there was a little red dot in the distance (the mx5).

Laughing to myself like a mad man I slowed down, heart pumping and amazed at how fast, and more scary was how easy it is to drive fast without knowing it. The hood was down too.

I then cruised all the way home under 70 and haven't been much over 80 ever since.

I did learn one lesson from this though. Wear a cap! My first day out in the Box and I had half a sun burned face and looked a pillock.

If anybody wants to race me I let them past now...knowing that you can probably beat them if you want is a wonderful thing.

It's all about having all four tires at the proper slip angle!!!
126 in a drift on US 280 outside Jackson's Gap, Alabama.
Came out of the last turn and saw the road straighten out ahead over several little rises. Looked down, noted the now 128 and stood on the brakes down a little hill. No sense risking a major ticket just going straight. Came over next rise at about 75 (speed limit was 70) to an Alabama State Trooper sitting on the left side of the road. I gave him a little friendly wave, like I was enjoying an afternoon cruise and he ignored me.
Stopped at next gas station to clean out underwear!!! :-)
I am very pleasantly surprised that the low speed understeer goes away at speed. The car was very comfortably nuetral.

Just over 140. It's a 2.5, so you need plenty of space once you're above 130.
