I've looked at the 997 conversion kit. It's about 6500 just for parts. But that is also the carbor kevlar kit, not a fiberglass one. I figure this car will be my project car that I keep around for awhile (3+ years). Now that's not normal for me. In the past 18 years of my life as a licensed drivers, I have had 15 different cars. That's an average of 1.2 years per car. This car will be something I can keep and take to car shows and also to the track.

I know a guy that owns a body shop who is an excellent painter. He owns a 997 that he has done work on and it looks great. He has painted parts for my friend who has the 996 with the RSR kit on it.

If I do the 996 conversion, I would most likely go with the GT3 bumper. Both my wife and I seem to agree on that one.
