997 Conversion?
why would anyone pay $7,000 to have their beautiful concept car inspired Boxster look like a VW bug.

The 996 was an adaptation of the Boxster. Both the front end and interior. The design was soooo good and after careful consideration speaking with the Japanese assembly line experts, they decided to make the 911's look like the hit Boxster design.
The 93 concept Boxster was put out for sale in Europe in 1996. The 996 911 didn't make its way to states until 1999. So yeah the 911 is a copy cat and the Boxster is cooler.
p.s.
I prefer the GT2 because the GT3 front bumper (MK2) looks a bit too similar to the pre- facelift 911, which is often confused for the Boxster (MK1) aero front bumper.
There's no confusing the GT2 front end with a Boxster. Something to consider..
