NickCats Registered User Join Date: Apr 2006 Location: Chicago Posts: 1,518	Depending on the MY of your Boxster, the trunk release may be manual or electronic. If it is electronic and your battery goes dead, you cannot open the trunk and get to the battery. By re-routing the trunk release cable, you could open your trunk and get to the battery even if the you have no power. Hope this helps...
