i once drove out my garage, beutiful winter day, cold has hell. 10 mins later got stuck in a snow strom that suddenly began, and my car was all over the road. who cares about the cold, its when it starts to freeze, and snowwwww hits the streets.

True, I don't normally drive the car when there's snow outside, but around here, they throw salt all over the road, so it's clear relatively quickly. Also, I've been up to Toronto before, and it gets COOOOOOOOLD up there! Very beautiful city though.

i drove mine w those summer tires, and man 315s are freaking wide, no traction for sht, but u still manage to drive it if u have some experience. i did pretty good i must say, not one thing hit, it was a different car too couse there was no weight at all in the back, so im 100% sure the box will do fine

i mean cmon, germany get snow, they built a year round car, so ill drive it that way. i didnt pay all this money to be leaving it in the garage, if i wanted that i woulda gotten me some 4x4 and a nice porsche poster to look at in the garage

I stored my car October 1 and waiting for the first snow storm to arrive.

As of yesterday, mine's officially oil changed, washed, waxed, fuel-topped, StaBil added, tires pumped, battery out, garage floor tarped, car covered, desiccant inside, moth balls around car, i.e. STORED.
Have yet to deal with the fact.

z12358 - do you change your oil again when you take it out comes spring?

Well since I pick my '02 up tomorrow I don't see how it would be mentally possible to go through this winter without driving it on clear, dry days. I won't drive it through snow or heavy days of rain but the cold won't hurt it and I have this ...NEED... if you get my meaning.

Also got me xenon silver bulbs today and my battery maintainer for when we have a week or two of snow. Also bumper plugs and clear side markers in hand and looking at the '03 clear headlights and tailights......Good God what have I done ???

So it's ok to let the oil sit during the winter months (3-4 months), when it comes out of storage you just fire her up and way you go? The oil won't degrade or break down during those months?

Luckily I no longer have to store mine for the winter with my relocation. But, one advantage I remember from storing vehicles in my previous location was that first drive every spring was just like driving it for the first time again! Always a big thrill to look forward to through the long months of winter!!

Ok, Ok, I know....it is still better to be able to drive it year round. I'm just trying to make these poor guys feel better.
