Thanks to JFP - Trans Fluid Change

Hi guys - recently JFP advised a forum member, and all of us, this its wise to change our trans fluid every 30-40k miles instead of the Porsche 90k recommendation. I am glad I did that - the fluid in my trans (04 SE, 40k) was pretty dark. I also learned that in JFPs opinion there is absolutely no problem in drilling a hole (2.5") in the aluminum pan cover to gain access to the trans drain plug, which was easy peasy. The pan is not structural. That sure saves a lot of work, because you don't have to take off the two aluminum support bars and the pan cover. Although you have to research a bit where to cut the hole, with a 2.5" hole, you have some leeway. And, I am all set for next time!

But the real point of this note is to thank JFP for his counsel and his patience with us! We are very fortunate to have his help in our 986 community! Thanks JFP.

I completely agree. I believe he's the most valuable source of information on here and other forums. It also impresses that he has been doing it for so long and has the patients to answer the same questions over and over.

I've also received wise consult from him and really appreciated it. Thanks JFP.

Plus he advises on other forums too. Obviously he's able to juggle many items simultaneously.

Every time I'm searching for the correct, no-BS answer for something Boxster related, I use "JFP" as one of the search terms. Always gets the right answer. Thanks JFP.

In addition to being very detailed, and patient, in his responses... he is very clear in his communications, telling it like it is.

Most definately he's one of my "go-to" personalities.

Thanks, JFP!

But...I can't disagree with the sentiment. He's helped me a bunch too!

Jfp

I try to read every post from JFP even if I have no interest in the thread topic he has posted in. Might need the info some day.
