Great thread. And big props to the fellow that put together a DIY on his website. I am preparing my 986S Guards Red for sale.
As of July 2025, the S metallic molding is discontinued, so I am using the 2003/04 version.
I just completed the Brembos calipers restoration and thought this windshield trim will be simple and satisfying - just like the blister did... WRONG. Pain in the arse.
I will add some photos during the removal of the trim using heat.
For reinstallation I am considering to remove the bottom lip of the molding so that the trim can be glued in place. It will speed installation and lessen chance of damage.
