I purchased my '99 in September 2005 with 59k. Now it has 66k.

I hadn't planned on being a Porsche owner. I bought the car for my best friend who had cancer. He had wanted a sporty 2-seated for the longest time but then his Boxster fund started to take a hit from getting ready for the end. He went into the hospital for the last time about the same time I bought the car. He never saw or drove the car. His wife said he wouldn't have accepted it but I told her I'd park it in the driveway so he would at least have to drive it to move it out of the way.
He left behind a wife and two young boys.
My friend's former employer (O'Brien & Gere) had a benefit golf tournament last month for his two sons. The oldest summed it up best with his t-shirt that simply said 'Cancer Sucks'.

Sorry for the long post.

What a great friend and an awesome story. I assume you'll be keeping that '99 forever.

I bought 2000 boxster 2.7 in june 2006 at 53,000, now at 62,000. If my wife had a rump like that I'd look at it all day too. Gonna go sleep on the couch now. Lol

99' Jade Green Metallic bought in June 06' with 11700 miles on it. It was one of the (unfortunate or fortunate) vehicles built in Finland in late 98'. It's engine was replaced 3k miles ago under warantee. I've put just under 2k miles on it and I work from home!

I LOVE THIS CAR!!!

I am about to hit 12,700. I drive a lot for work and reserve every penny of the 44.5 cent/ mile reimbursement I receive for the down payment on a 911 in 5 years (or an engine rebuild if this thing blows)
