Ims or???

Background. Prior to leaving for an extended period of time due to my occupation, I had symptoms of a worn clutch. In a flurry of activity, before leaving, I commenced the teardown, found the Bendix drive chewed up and the ring gear on the flywheel destroyed. I replaced the flywheel, clutch, associated parts, starter, two cv boots, DT40 and new oil filter. buttoned everything back together, quick drive and was welcomed with loss of power, flashing cel, pulled codes for misfire and misfire on cylinger 1, 2, and 5. Unfortunately, I left the next day. Fast forward 7 months later, dead battery, replaced battery, started right up, no cel, no codes, didn't feel right, shut down, drained oil, pulled filter, cut filter, metal particulate in filter, dropped oil pan, feared IMS failure, but, I found a bunch of metal shavings, some plastic, black rubber, and what appears to be several small chewed up springs. Please see pictures. Thoughts appreciated, pulling the trigger on replacing IMS bearing at a minimum and probably chain guides.
