Brake Light Bulb Loose

I have a Brake Light Bulb located on the right side that fits loose on the socket of the light housing and keeps falling off. I have the original light assembly 2001 Box S. The aluminum track that runs through the housing for this bulb is loose unlike the others.

Anyone have a solution?

Mine used to get loose and then the brake lights wouldn't work, I think I squeezed the two sides together, and I may have added a little epoxy to keep the bottom metal track in place against the plastic housing.

I secured the trace with a long screw through it and into the plastic tray.

I took out the tail light assembly today for a close look and discovered the loose metal track/trace has slots that may have come loose from the plastic tray. I re-insterted the slots located at the bulb location and ensure the other slots/notches were snug into the plastic part. I also closed the bulb slot slowly/carefully (with my fingers) and the bulb fit in much secure and tighter.

This simple solution may have solved the problem of the brake light bulb coming loose.

Thanks!

Yeah especially if you drive on bumpy roads. Since I did the epoxy it hasn't happened again.

Thanks! I'll keep an eye on it; if the traces pop out again, I'll try the epoxy approach.
