I've had my car for a little more than a month, and I've done some minor things myself (2DIN stereo, O2 sensor, water pump and ignition switch). I'm happy to give bigger jobs a shot - it's not my primary car so having it on jack stands in the garage for several days isn't an issue - the biggest roadblock for me is my sad (but improving) tool collection.

I figure that buying new tools to get a job done will typically cost less than taking it into a shop, so as long as I enjoy doing the work, why not?
