If you decide to replace the IMSB, take pictures of the car while it is apart, and keep the old IMSB, assuming it is still intact, to show potential buyers that it wasn't done after the IMSB already went South. And go with the appropriate LN ceramic unit for your car, IMHO it is the best choice out there.

The retrofits list at $799 and the solutions list at $1725. So its a $2K to $3K total cost to put in one of these choices in. Hard to believe that one would recapture that in a sale unless everything else in the car was pristine.

I've been looking at the Hartech one on this side of the pond. Bearing is around USD220 - 240 depending on exchange rate.

It is extremely cost effective, however, especially considering the cost of a Replacement engine! Everything is relative.

Nope.

It's $1700, not $1200. With labor, that's $3-$4k installed. Replacements engines can be bought for as little as $1000 running, $3-$4k rebuilt. A 3.2 just sold on this forum for $1500.
Yeah...a $3000-$4000 unproven part that's smaller than my fist is totally worth 1/2-1/3 the value of the entire car.

I don't think so.

If your IMSB fails, sell the car as a roller, combine that with the $3-$4k that you didn't spend on an unproven part, and just buy another.

Or just sell your car before your have an issue, combine that with your $3-$4k, and buy a car without an IMSB issue.

OR, quit worrying and just drive.
