Bought a Durometric
After I use it on mine, I will have 2 VIN'S left. Just ordered it so it will be a week or so before I get it.
If your in the SE Denver area I will offer a scan to you.

The big challenge with Durametric is finding a source of all the Expected Values or acceptable ranges for the Values tested. Some ,like Deviation angles are searchable, some like O2 sensor voltages are generic knowledge but there are many others for which there seems to be no data. If you find a source of such values for Durametric it would be an Instant Sticky .
Pelican were out of stock of the OBD manual for the M96 so they might like to comment on when it will be available again. That was the best source I know of.

Mine just came on Thursday. I love it so far, but it shows a ton of data, and there needs to be a guide of what you're looking at, and what it should be to be within range.
I bought mine to help me with my alarm system. So far, as far as I can tell, my alarm module (m535) is shot.
It also gives over rev data which I like.

The on line bootleg of the Porsche repair manual has all the values.

I have considered buying one several times. But, after reading post from non-professional mechanics it sounds like it is difficult to decipher the information it gives you.
It has been mentioned before that it would be nice to have a separate sub-forum here just for discussions on the Durametric Diagnostic Tool.

The major drawback to both the Durametric system and the factory OBD II manuals is that both are designed for someone that already knows what they are doing, which tends to make them non DIY friendly at all.

Pelican just cancelled the order of my OBDii manual and refunded my money. Reason was 'no longer available'.

Exactly. Unless you have an understanding of modern computer controlled fuel and ignition engine management you won't be able to make sense of the data from the Dur.

That ODB manual comes up on EBay sometimes but seldom with any mention of updates and it is very expensive.
I suggest just contribute to Renntech and ask your question there with as much technical content and humility you can . It worked for me and they spent way more quality time on the issue than my paltry contribution merited.
The problem with using the Porsche OBD code Manual is that there are opaque issues like aberrant/transient codes , bogus codes that mislead you - example 02 sensor and cat codes .For those issues you really need the experience of Renntech plus all your other Durametric readings in one concise Post. They read the OBD tea leaves very well ! Good Luck.

I emailed the Seller in Hungary a few months ago. At that time the CD was for a 1997 model year with unknown updates. Not sure if the OBD2 info would apply to much later 986? Maybe a 996 manual for the correct year would be helpful?

Again, at least for me, if you have a basic knowledge of fuel injection and computer control engine management, you will start to figure out the Box based on the official manuel .

I believe the Segment (A) value should also be 1.0. I have no idea what that reading is, but when I was researching all the values, I saw a few people note that value was wrong.
Hence, why the bootleg PDF manuals should be used with caution.
