Congratulations on the latest version of your SAI 'Problem- Solver' device. It solves a problem that will become more prevalent as these cars age. It is a problem that nobody else has solved. M96 ennthusiats like me spent hours doing very tedious R&R + testing to try to solve the multiple issues with the SAI. The lucky ROW cars do not have such problems.
Thank you Particlewave

Thanks!

.
I have not yet installed mine (too many projects! ). But the instructions seemed pretty good?!?!

I sent Charles some supplementary Instructions-for-Dummies like me :-)
This was based on my recent experience installing a Tester. So if you are as dim-witted as me, you might ask him about that in case it would help you.
One point to remember is that although the SAI based code and CEL should disappear when the Tester is installed correctly, if you still have a "Secondary Air Not Ready " that may remain. That "Not Ready" on the Readiness Monitor will cause you to fail the Smog Test in States that use the California style test. The way to fix that is the infamous and vague 'Drive Cycle'.
In States with a visual exam, do not remove the SAI pump - you will certainly fail and may get an 'equipment tampering' flag which means going to the Referee. Not good ! So maybe leave the pump in place and just disconnect the connector on the SAI pump.
Durametric (or similar) will show you the Not Ready status.
Check your work with Durametric. Watch the O2 sensor voltages while the SAI pump is running for both banks, pre&post cat. If one side is dead, check your O2 sensor wires at the new Tester.Tug them gently to ensure they are secure.
If you have vacuum leak codes related to the SAI - for example the Vacuum Reservoir or the vacuum hose/connectors ,that may need to be fixed to clear the code.
This may help:

It is a common problem on German cars with SAI in this era.Similar solutions are offered for BMW E36 for example: http://e36-electronic.com/
If you are worried about saving the planet, the SAI operates for 90 seconds max at startup and occasionally during cruise. You'll leave a massive carbon footprint by throwing parts at the problem. The rest of the world did not fit this system -just us ! Maybe when you have time,it is a fascinating dive into the bowels of the M96 to fix the SAI codes and readiness problems - see videos linked above.
