Battery Longevity

My 01 S battery is from 2004! It's still working, but I noticed it has started to hesitate a little at start up. That's crazy old for a battery, right? Just curious if others lasted this long. I'm thinking about replacing it with an AGM battery, any recommendations?

AGM is recommended by the pros here .Just use the same BCI size code that you prefer. You can get the correct one at Walmart ! If only other Pcar parts were as easy !

It looks like an H6 size fits the bill. I found a great deal at Advance Auto for a 760CCA AGM battery with a 30%off coupon. This will be one of my cheapest repairs to date.

Here in Phoenix battaeries don't last long. Heat kills them. If it's in the engine compartment figure tops 30 months. If it's in the truck away from engine heat 42 to 48 months. On my motorcycle it's two years tops. Anything longer then the tome I mentioned and you are on borrowed time.

Darn, you read my mind. I haven't noticed any degradation in my battery, but here in the Florida heat, batteries don't last too long. Looks like mine is 7 years old! I've been starting to look at replacements and hadn't considered an AGM, but instead OEM. Why are AGM's desirable?
