By nature of their design, the boxer engine will use a bit of oil. Esp if your car sits for multiple days in a row (like only used on weekends). Oil can seep past the rings and gets pushed out the exhaust, sometimes as a big cloud on start-up, sometimes without being noticed. Nothing to worry about since it's designed into the engine if it's not excessive.

Just be sure to monitor it. If you're watching based on the digital display, you might be catching it at extreme edges - it might have been just at the top the last time you looked and might have been just under a mark when you checked again so a lower mark was displayed. Digital gauges don't show margins, it's this bar or that one.

However, if the consumption picks up, you might be in early onset of an AOS failure. Consumption begins slowly if the AOS has a small tear, so the AOS might be giving you a warning sign before the famous James Bond smoke screen which signifies massive failure.
