Please don't do this

I found this on a boxster I just picked up. Luckily for the owner, they were hit from behind.

Is that a Takata airbag with the exploding wheel shrapnel mounted?

Hopefully he drove around with a full face helmet.

Wow, someone was not thinking. That would make a Takata airbag comparatively safe. You could end up with a really nice Porsche emblem imprint on you forehead.

Yikes! I know somebody that could use that emblem, how much if I find some other stuff to go with it for the order?

That would leave a mark that wouldn't buff out.

They used to sell a small enamel emblem that fit the steering wheel perfectly, but mounting anything else is very dangerous. Unless of course, you want a Porsche crest permanently imprinted on your face.

I would disconnect the battery before you attempt to pry that off.

That's equivalent to a shotgun slug fired straight to your face.

One more thing. Are you testing to see if your fuel low warning light actually work? I think most of us wouldn't run our fuel level that low.

I think that is one of the cars that Woody is taking apart. It looks like it was a "toasty" day in Texas - 101 degrees.

It's called doing Aerodynamic Testing, or at least that's what my dad claimed when he ran out of gas in his 944.

Yes that's a car I was testing right before i removed the engine and transmission. That glued on emblem is out of character from the rest of the car. It had a recently replaced factory motor with only maybe 10,000 miles and brand new brakes

When I painted my airbag, it had a metal emblem. I thought it was a huge liability. What is the solution? If I take it off what do I put in the indentation?

I cut this off a blown airbag so you can see the proper way the emblem is attached. I don't think you can add one if your wheel didn't come with one.
