Friday Fun

Since I am new to this group, and I don't know any of you, I got to thinking on my way home it would be fun to see what kind of tunes you guys have currently in your cars...and be honest...

I have a 6 disk cd change in my car and the order goes....
CD 1: Paul Simon's greatest hits CD1
CD 2: Paul Simon's greatest hits CD2
CD 3: Johnny Cash greatest hits
CD 4: Beastie Boys, Pauls Boutique
CD 5: Snoop Dog, Doggystyle
CD 6: Beastie Boys, To the 5 Boroughs

Where 'bouts in Iowa are you?
I just got back from a trip to the Spirit Lake/Okoboji area.
I think in all of the dozens of times I have been back there, I have seen exactly one Porsche, a 911 cab in a restaurant parking lot in Dennison, IA.
No, that's not right; there was a 944 Turbo sitting along the highway for sale in Arnold's Park a couple summers ago.
If you're taking a poll, I hardly ever even turn the radio on, so I have NO CDs in the car. If I did, it would probably be Jerry Jeff Walker, the Dirt Band, something like that.

Guess I'm sorta like Ronzi. The CD magazine isn't even in the car. There is a Gretchen Wilson CD, along with a Sara Evans and an Alan Jackson. But wife and I listened to them and left them there.

CD's? what's that? don't they sell those at the bank?

I've got Sirius Satellite radio and usually have my Ipod Nano with me at all times.
but lately in the cah (as we say here in Joyzee) I listen to:

Franz Ferd. Green Day,Killers,Red Hot CP
pop: Shakira, umm..damn I don't like pop!
some electrnoic music: Deep Dish, Eric Morillo, Theivery Inc.
and here in Jersey Springsteen is always in style.

oh and I have become a closet 80's music fan
Police,DM,Yes,Bowie,SOS Band, EWF,Commodores,U2(ok I know not an 80's band)

p.s.
I *HATE* Creed, Nickelback,Regaeton,Bo Bice,Cheesy Dance music, Celine Dione, olives, girls who ear flipflops on dirty NYC streets, people who get on the elevator before I get off, automated customer service lines, people braking on the highway instead of lifting, 100 pound women talking on cell phones in SUVs, people who won't slow down to let you switch lanes for the off ramp, pop ads where they hide the x button, seller who pad shipping charges on ebay, the stars was prequels.....

ZZ is just good old southern rock that's great for shifting gears and being obnoxious in traffic. I blare it every time I drive my car. Planet of Women is one of my favorites aside from everyone's favorite... ahow how how La Grange.

But then again, Tres Hombres was my first vinyl album purchase as a 12 year old kid.

...for those of you who are too young to remember these black, large, thin pizza like disks, they were the medium for a long time in music for us old guys.

Now I also listen to the following:

Pavorati's Wedding Classics
Nickleback, Seether, Creed... you know, Seattle grunge bands
Elton John's Greatest Hits
Peter Frampton Comes Alive (disc 2)
Joe Satriani (but I tire of his music quickly)
Aerosmith - all their songs
Van Halen - all their songs with all the lead singers and pre and post "amp death"
Rush

Hi,

Let's see, right now I have Jimmi Hendrix - Blues, Geo. Thorogood - Get a Haircut , Rolling Stones - Stripped, Steeley Dan - Pretzel Logic, Luther Allison - Blue Streak, and ZZ Top - Greatest Hits. All pretty good driving music...

Happy Motoring!... Jim '99

I have A mixed compilation I made which is a 4 cds of 75 R&B and Hip hop songs. Nirvana greatest Hits, Jay-Z The Black Album, Linkin Park Live in Texas, A mixed Dance music cd and a mixed rock music cd. I also have various old "Jim-Tech" cd's I made (my stupid name for my mixed cd's) varying from #15-22 which I have retired now. Mostly hip hop and R&B on those...

OK, that Cure album and U2 album are really awesome. I loved the Cure back in the day, and still love the songs when they come on the radio once in a while. I'm gonna have to pick that up again. That U2 album was probablly the point in my live when I finally figured out that on weekends god becomes Bono and makes music in his spare time...

P-lap, your life must suck if you have that much stuff to HATE.
Personally, I have one thing to HATE right now ... thousands of illegal aliens demonstrating in our streets for their "rights".
What? This isn't the Minuteman forum?
Oh, sorry.

ps - just kidding about the sucky life
