I was there last Sat for a NASCAR ride along
It was the Oval, so I guess that doesn't count
It's gonna be a lot more fun driving the roval
Just fitted a set of YellowStuff and bedded them today so I am ready to go

Hopefully it won't be too wet this weekend

2014 Festival of Speed Clip

I don't know about other areas but southern Cali is a pretty active area with half a dozen great tracks within decent driving distance, auto-crosses at a re-purposed airbase, tracks and assorted other big parking lots.

You could go racing every weekend if you wanted.

Was there on the Saturday - lucky that the rain stayed away (apart from a few light sprinkles).
The track tour was fun - managed 109mph on the banking just trying to stay with the car in front!
A suggestion to the organizers - how about some chairs and tables in the area where the food trucks were! Make it nice to sit and chat while eating.

Here is a hot lap from Saturday in the Time Trial. 2.9L Cayman PDK. Looks like Tom Stone and I were running very similar times this weekend.

Yep - very similar times. I think that 1:57.2 was my best time for the weekend. Of course, that was during a dry session! In Sunday afternoon's race in the rain, I was running 2:05 to avoid doing something stupid (like crashing!).

A very fun weekend overall. My brother and I kept busy instructing in Yellow and I spent time with 3 students including Mike, Jay, and Steve. They all did great in their first visit to the Auto Club Roval Super Speedway.

Cars ran great, tires worked, lap times were logged. A little rain here and there just kept it interesting out in turns 1&2.

Tom: Best lap 1:57.14 VERY close times.
