Hello,

I was wondering how to increase the hp power and my automotive engineer suggest me to remapping the main controller/brain/ecu dont know the correct word. and the car can increase 25 hp...

I would like to know your feedback on that.....

The cost will be 600 USD I think is too much...how are the prices in other countries?

25 hp is not going to happen. If you want more power sell car and buy Boxster S. I recommend you stay with the car you have a save your money.

My plan next year is to go with an IPD Plenium and throttle body. There is no need to remap or mess with the computer as it resets itself. It should provide around 30 hp.
I just hope it wont overstress anything else in the motor!

Good luck with that - 30 hp is way optimistic....

"Optimistic" would be the polite way of saying it; it takes a lot of money to get 30 HP out of the M96/97..

Here is how to get +25 hp out of a stock M96 engine at a cost of $1,505 ($60/hp);

Softronic ECU Tune = 15hp (Porsche 986 Boxster Performance Software Tuning Flash)
TopSpeed Pro 1 Cat Back Exhaust = 6-7hp (TopSpeedAuto Porsche 986 97-04 Performance Exhaust System)
RSS Underdrive Pulley = 4-5hp (RSS Underdrive Pulley Short Belt Combo)

Would that package that Pedro sells for about 1800 get almost 30 hp. I think it was Ecu mapping, throttle body and the tube that directs the air into the throttle. Also, what is the down side?
Thanks

Yeah - I guess I was a bit optimistic! Probably more like 15 hp?
I have driven a 996 with and without the mod and the best thing was more torque - definitely noticeable and sounded better!
