Bubble? What Porsche Bubble?

All this can be yours for only $49,500! Don't worry, that will buff out!

The sad truth is that it will probably sell within 10% of the asking price. Insane.

Yeah, kinda nuts. There are 7 993 turbos on eBay at/above 200k, including this 97 turbo S at 500k
Porsche 911 Turbo S | eBay
All nice cars, but I can't believe how much they are going for.

Even the Boxster is going up in value, especially the low production number GT that's track ready. I know this was seen here before. Totally deserves a second look.

I threw up a little.
Slapping a wing and putting "illest" stickers on it doesn't make it a track car. Illest doesn't even make any car parts.

I guess I'll sit on my 1966 912 for a little while longer. Paid $2,500 for it in 1997, did an engine overhaul then took it to Sardinia Italy and used it as my daily driver for 4 years. Brought it back home, drove it for a few years and it has sat since 2007. No time to work on it. Once I get my Box up and running, might shift gears and take a look at the 912 again. Fun car to drive, I miss it...

Well, prices are rising. Even for 996 cars with with Mezger engines.

2004 996 Turbo S with 60.000 Km in good condition was sold for 95K (100K USD) euro. And that price was paid last week. So not an offer no one bought. 2 years ago that car was around 60 K euros.

Prize tags for 996 and 997 with Mezger engine have been risen by 50-100% in the last 2 years over here in europe.

Problem will still be the 996 and 986 without Mezger engine. They get lower, maybe they stagnate some time. But maintenance and parts prices are still high and getting higher. So not an investment if you looking on the money side.

Regards, Markus

I think this Air Cooled bubble is going to creep into the early water cooled. Not the Basic stuff like 996, 986 but the 996 Turbo. There are many thoughts that the 996 turbo could be the the best performance car you can get in the mid $50k range. It will be interesting to see how the values of these type cars are influenced by the increasing 993 prices

Definitely not a track car, especially with M&S tires, even if it does have coilovers and a wing

Love the painted calipers, high quality work

I don't think its a bubble *** IF **** the numbers of that specific model of Porsche are truly limited. And by limited I mean you've got money in hand and you simply can not find the car you want in a day or even a week, without compromising on many things about the car that you otherwise would not have wanted if more examples were available.

Cars you find in a day, and are willing to pay the market rate, these are firmly in bubble territory. Most have not recouped their original sticker prices. Once the economy takes a dive, I'd be scooping these up by the dozen, restoring and flipping for a profit when the next bubble comes around.
