Here's a helpful hint for single guys: go to a grocery store and pick up a bouquet of flowers. Carry them around in your cart. The assumption will be made that you are going on a date (you must be dressed well), and therefore, available. Every woman in the store will look at you. One may even follow you out to your car.

At least that’s what happened to hubs last week, when he picked up a surprise bouquet for me.

Don’t worry, I often remind him that I AM the trophy wife.

After two drinks...oh boy here comes the truth serum. She told me she was from Southern California and her father was a former producer for Aaron Spelling. So I ask how she ends up in NJ. "Well I was arrested at the airport here carrying a suitcase". What's in the suitcase? "Cannabis". How did it turn out? "I got three years in jail".
Wait a minute...you got three years on your first offense? "Not my first offense, I was hanging out with the boys from the wrong side of the tracks and was arrested in a boyfriend's stolen car and later stabbed said guy with a kitchen knife during an argument. By the way I'm actually married now and I have three kids at home but I'm looking to start over...."

Moral of the story... normal people don't date other normal people because of the brand of car the other person has. If they do it's simply degrees of crazy...
This is true.

I once had a prostitute get in the porsche. At a stoplight, she just walked up and got in.

I paid her $20 to get out.

Didn't seem like a bad area I was in but I guess it must have been.

She wasn't bad looking so I got her number but I was already on my way to get laid for free from a girl that also loved the Porsche so I didn't need to pay

I lock my doors now.

EDIT: and before someone says "OMG U PAID 20 TO GET HER OUT?? YOU SHOULD HAVE...." the $20 was the simplest and fastest solution. I didn't have time to deal with police or bury a body.

Hey now, just because I am young doesn't mean I kiss and tell...

Well, I'd at least choose a better vernacular than "get laid."

It is great to use the car as a filter though, outside of gold diggers the car attracts the right type of girl as the kind of girl into a guy with a bro truck has no interest!

With my lackluster "romantic history" I couldn't get lucky if I had a 12" solid gold penis that dispensed bon-bons!

Yes, I get Laid under the car when changing oil, spark plugs, after market mufflers etc.

I know the car would help with casual sex too as its all about what goes on in the girls head that turns her on to you.

A classy suit, hot car and a witty attitude will get into her head in a powerful way and your carnal desires satisfied in short order IF you have the know how.

However if you think that the car alone will do it without the knowledge and game, then you'll be sadly disappointed.

The car can not make up for personality, its just like fishing, the car is a lure but its up to your knowledge and skill to be able to set the hook and reel her in.

Embarrassment

This thread is an embarrassment to an otherwise very informative, useful site.

Well, we are driving the lowest rung Porsche so I suppose we are the kind that take embarrassment in stride, like water off a duck.

I hope all the military service has not robbed you of a sense of humor.

Even if it has, we can still accept you as you are.

My wife says no. Although she likes the car she says it's too small.

Another fine example of where the falling prices of Boxsters have led the ownership base towards...................What an eclectic bunch............

100 986forum demerits!!

I'll have you know we are driving the top tier Porsche that comes with a conventional engine in the middle, only two seats and soft top!! Heck not even all the Porsches since the 986 have even come with Porsche engines (cough Cayenne)... Consider yourself lucky sir!

But to your orginal point, I think an entry level Cayenne was cheaper than a base Boxster by a couple hundred at one point.

well we're still at about 60% for owners that think the porsche helped somewhat so I guess that's a good sign

20% said no or didn't think it helped

and about 20% have no sense of humor which I accounted for, hence the question to catch the few humorless porsche owners
