I wonder why is this word shown as asterisks?

I'm wondering why my local Porsche dealership (aut0haus) shows up as asterisks. Is the word considered profanity for some reason?

They are a direct competitor of Pelican, and often a lot cheaper, so they are treated like an expletive and deleted.

Yup. I just did a quick search of posts for ******************************** and there were quite a few from 2008-2010 talking about prices on parts. It makes sense to me. I don't think that Pelican is being ******************************** ******************************** for doing it. If I was the sponsor and owner of this forum I would probably do it too. why give ******************************** free advertising. Or maybe they just think that ******************************** is a bunch of ******************************** ********************************.

A Porsche dealership cheaper then Pelican? That sounds like an oxymoron, at least where I live.

The one that I am referring to is a parts vendor, like Pelican, but located in AZ.

I used to use AutohouseAZ (of course SP wrong) quite a lot esp since I'm in California and I have to pay tax on parts sold here. I also used BimmerSpecialist esp since the website was easier to navigate. Unfortunately pelican bought it out and now its not so easy to navigate.

I had to try it myself several times along with several selected mutations. I guess Auto-haus needs to be added to the list of things that are not to be discussed!

I went to ********************************eAZ to compare a price and they didn't even list the part I was looking for (cup holder). This is probably the best advertisement they've had for a while !

Yeah, that's really a little sad and pathetic, isn't it? Especially since it was this dealer that put me on to Pelican in the first place.

I guess we should consider ourselves fortunate that we're still allowed "Ebay" and "Amazon" and "***********" without being censored.
