With news of turbo-4's on the way in the newer models, these end of model life super variants might be the last of the best.

I was thinking about this as well but to be honest I think those new turbo fours are not going to be like your old school turbo's. They may not sound like the old stuff but I'm sure they are going to be plenty quick compared to the 6's, very MPG friendly without the lag of those old 911 Turbos. Walter Rohrl complained about the sound and at this point I think with what we saw them do with the PDK, they can manufacture a Turbo 4 to sound like a Ducati via computer. F1 is having this issue as well but they actually have the problem of having to limit the car to only the absolutely essential parts and weights all the way down to re-engineering the shape of the spark plugs. With a fancy Porsche for a wealthy buyer they have more wiggle room to create all the fake gurgle and howl you want.
