Wide Open throttle

Sounds so good. It motivates my soul. It doesn't sound like any other vehicle I've driven (outside of a select few track cars). What do you think has the best sounding engine at WOT? My vote is my 986, with the 5.2 R8 as a close second.

Yeah, the sound of an American V8 can make you heat beat faster.

but I have to give the best tuned sound to Ferrari.

400 hp 400 cubic inch american V8 with 4 barrel carb, headers and glass packs
WOT - when the Secondaries kick in, it is a very visceral sound
With header-ed exhaust - it is deafening. You can not have a conversation and you can hear it miles away. Kinda Nascar, kinda American Graffiti

That was my first car. You never forget your first
Just stay away from twisties

Think this is a better depiction of the LFA not the sound on the ring.

This might be considered cheating but nothing compares to the Ferrari V12 from the 90's

The video doesn't do the sound justice....you wouldn't belive what it was like to watch, hear Alesi and Berger spank the 412. I would liken it to a moving symphony of 40 trumpets on full song.

Belive it or not other other F1 drivers would take time to listen at various point on the track....my favourite spot was the flimsy bridge right over the main straight. The V12 would come right through your chest cavity.

Sadly a year or so later the V12s were gone

There is no symphony better than a racetrack full of Porsches.

As you can imagine it sounded even more awesome in person as opposed to the cell phone recording.

Check out the 1:00 minute mark.

The last Mustang I built was a '68 GT Convertible. 302 w/351 heads and ITB's. With the Shelby headers it just sounded incredible. Like a loud pissed off growl. But agreed, a track full of air cooled screaming Porches... That's a symphony!

And there is no symphony(?) worse than a track full of unmuffled Mazda RX-8's.
At WOT, that's the worst sounding car ever. YICK.

My favourite sound will always be Porsche flat-6, fullstop

The other sound which I will never forget was from a Mercedes AMG V12 Pacecar at a F-1 Race some years ago here in Germany.
Forget all those F1 engine sounds, just painfull loud crap.
But that V12...YAWDROPPING...it sounded like a low altitude flying ME-109, unbelievable!
