Wide Open throttle

Sounds so good. It motivates my soul. It doesn't sound like any other vehicle I've driven (outside of a select few track cars). What do you think has the best sounding engine at WOT? My vote is my 986, with the 5.2 R8 as a close second.

You clearly know nothing of American muscle and 180 headers...

Yeah, the sound of an American V8 can make you heat beat faster.

but I have to give the best tuned sound to Ferrari.

400 hp 400 cubic inch american V8 with 4 barrel carb, headers and glass packs
WOT - when the Secondaries kick in, it is a very visceral sound
With header-ed exhaust - it is deafening. You can not have a conversation and you can hear it miles away. Kinda Nascar, kinda American Graffiti

That was my first car. You never forget your first
Just stay away from twisties

This might be considered cheating but nothing compares to the Ferrari V12 from the 90's

That's cheating for sure, but what a glorious sound!

Best sounding car ever!!!!!!!
Went to many F1 Races Detroit, Phoenix and Indy

BRAN 04-03-2015 09:06 AM

My favourite sound will always be Porsche flat-6, fullstop :D

The other sound which I will never forget was from a Mercedes AMG V12 Pacecar at a F-1 Race some years ago here in Germany.
Forget all those F1 engine sounds, just painfull loud crap.
But that V12...YAWDROPPING...it sounded like a low altitude flying ME-109, unbelievable!

What muffler are you using? Never mind. I looked at your garage, that's the muffler I want to go with.

Think this is a better depiction of the LFA not the sound on the ring.

To me that video is worthless. I don't want to know what the engine sounds like sitting still and being revered up or running trough a tunnel. I want to know what it sounds like under load out in the open.

But from this video the car isn't throaty enough for me, to tin sounding to me. Difference in taste I guess. Although in the LaFerrari video I posted it did sound like a baby crying at one spot. :D

antny 04-03-2015 08:29 PM

In deed. Don't get me wrong I love a sound of any Ferrari also :)

Antilag gives me a Woody! It's not the sexiest sound, but I love the rawness of it. Makes children cry and adults run for cover.
