Racing seat and airbag light - options?

I've got a 2000 Boxster S with non heated seats with a power recline, but manual slider and height adjustment, and no airbags in the bolsters (at least I am pretty sure not).

I know if I take the seat out, to disconnect the battery first before removing the seat electronic connector, and reconnect the connector before reconnecting the battery. I have the durametric and can reset the airbag light which I did a while back when I drove for a while without my passenger seat.

It looks like part of that plug is the seatbelt sensor, and part of that plug goes to the power recline.

I saw this guide on rennlist that shows how to remove just the seatbelt portion of the plug and reconnect it to the seatbelt receptacle mounted to the new seat:
Rennlist Member Gallery :: DIY GT3 Seats Install

Is that all there is to it to have a racing seat with no airbag light?

Does the 986 Boxster have weight sensors in the seat that are integrated with the airbag computer? I think maybe on the newer models it may but not mine?

Thanks

Steve

That's it. Just mark the grey plug for the seatbelt sensor so it is always in the correct orientation. No weight sensor in your 986.
