After a lot of thinking, I decided to have my IMS replaced by an independent porsche repair shop here in Maryland. Roger is the owner and the only mechanic on his Autotheraphy Shop. He did an excellent job replacing my IMS. My car is a 2002 base Boxster, Tiptronic (automatic) transmission with 79k miles. It cost me $2,600 to replaced the IMS bearing, RMS rubber seal and others.
My existing IMS bearing is a single row bearing and still in good condition when it was taken out from the engine. It was replaced with the LN IMS PRO kit with dual bearing. I can now relax and not thinking about it. Attached pictures are the before and after.
